The number of people listening to podcasts continues to grow. In 2017, 40% of listeners age 12 and older have listened to a podcast with 24% listening within the past month.

For small businesses and entrepreneurs, podcasts can be a new way of connecting with clients and customers to share a lesson or message. By their nature, podcasts are the most intimate media format. Most listeners use podcasts to fill the mundane tasks of the day - laundry, commuting, walking the dog. Podcasts are consumed when the brain is more relaxed and ready to take in information.

Listening to a podcast brings the information to that "head space" and that "voice in your head," creating a more intimate connection between listener and speaker.

Compare a podcast to video where a client has to sit and watch, often distracted by email, to-do lists, and everything else on their desk. Take them out of that space and have them listen to your message with a podcast.
